Genelec shortlisted for 3 AV Technology Awards
Our new Smart IP loudspeaker technology has been shortlisted in both ‘Audio Product of the Year’ and ‘Best Use of Emerging Technology’ categories, with G Livelab in Tampere being selected for the ‘Venue Project of the Year’ category.
Organised by AV Technology Magazine – in association with Installation, Women in AV, AV User Group and ISE – the awards received a record number of entries this year, so we’re particularly delighted to have such a strong showing. The final winners will be selected by a panel of highly respected AV industry experts, with the results being announced during an online ‘Awards Week’ between 23rd and 25th June.
Our 4420 and 4430 Smart IP loudspeakers combine exceptional sound quality with single cable convenience, providing scalable power, audio and loudspeaker management features via a standard CAT cable. Smart IP therefore offers installers a powerful and cost-effective solution for guaranteeing crisp, intelligible audio across entire installations.
Both models are compatible with Dante and AES67 IP streams, and derive power via PoE. The single rear panel RJ45 connector also allows access to Smart IP Manager software – enabling installers to configure an almost unlimited number of rooms, zones, loudspeakers and audio channels, and includes device discovery, room equalisation, system organisation and status monitoring. This enables installers to deploy Smart IP loudspeakers even on highly complex, acoustically challenging projects.
Turning to the ‘Venue Project of the Year’ nomination, G Livelab in Tampere is run by the Finnish Musicians’ Union. Housed in a striking red brick building which was formerly the boiler house of the Frenckell paper mill, the venue hosts up to 250 people and offers a hugely varied programme including jazz, folk, world music, pop/rock, chamber music, electronic music and more.
The result is an extraordinary live music experience based on quality programming, modern design, and a state-of-the-art Genelec audio system including over forty of the new 4430 Smart IP loudspeakers.
Nordic AV integrator Bright were responsible for the execution of the project, with Head of Installation, Santtu Sipilä, commenting that “the ability to have everything delivered over just a single cable is every installer’s dream, so I think that Genelec’s Smart IP range will be figuring in a great many of our future designs!”
